Housing affordability continues to be one of the most pressing issues facing our community. From recruiting essential workers to ensuring our seniors can age in place, the lack of accessible and affordable housing affects all of us in one way or another.
That’s why I’m excited to share an opportunity that could become part of the solution—and I hope you’ll consider joining us tonight at 6:00 PM at the Port Angeles Library to learn more.
We’re exploring a partnership with Nesterly, an innovative homesharing organization that makes it safe and simple for homeowners to rent out a spare room. This approach has already seen success in other communities by helping homeowners earn extra income while providing affordable housing for individuals who need it—such as teachers, healthcare workers, and students.
Nesterly handles all the legwork:

✔️ Income verification
✔️ Reference checks
✔️ Rent collection
All while focusing on compatibility and community-building between hosts and guests.
Tonight’s information session will explain how the program works and what it would take to bring it to Clallam County. If we can generate interest from 50 local homeowners, Nesterly will begin operations here.
